ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN

Yangaro is committed to environmental, social and cultural sustainability. This Environment Management Plan outlines our strategies and practices to minimise our impact on the environment, contribute positively to the local community, and enhance cultural awareness and respect. It also outlines how we communicate our environmental values and actions to guests.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINBILITY PRACTICES

To reduce our environmental footprint, Yangaro implements the following practices:

  • solar panels used across accommodation facilities to reduce reliance on grid energy

  • LED lighting and energy-efficient appliances used throughout the site

  • on-site green waste processing and off-site disposal

  • bulk refillable amenities to reduce single-use plastics

  • onsite recycling facilities available for guest and staff use

  • natural cleaning products used by housekeeping where possible

  • regular audits of water and energy consumption to identify efficiency opportunities.

SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY

Yangaro supports the local community through

  • employment of local staff and use of local contractors

  • prioritising local suppliers for food, maintenance, and furnishings

  • supporting local events, artists, and regional tourism initiatives

  • providing opportunities for staff training, development, and wellbeing

  • fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture

CULTURAL SUSTAINABILITY & RESPECT

We recognise the importance of preserving and respecting the cultural heritage of the region. We:

  • acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land

  • display local artworks and crafts from regional artists

  • ensure that guest experiences are respectful and aligned with local community values
