A VISION INSPIRED BY NATURE, BUILT FOR CONNECTION
Yangaro was born from a desire to share the untouched beauty of Funnel Bay with family, friends, and travellers from around the world. Inspired by the pristine coastline, lush tropical bushland, and striking water vistas, founders Kevin and Dolores Beasley dreamed of creating a luxury boutique resort that harmonised with the natural environment while offering world-class hospitality.
Alongside renowned luxury residence designer Chris Beckingham, they brought their vision to life with the creation of Emerald House—an elegant home that would become the foundation for what is now Yangaro. From that single residence, the concept grew into a luxurious retreat of eight stunning villas, set against the backdrop of the Whitsundays.
What’s in a Name?
The name Yangaro reflects the resort’s unique philosophy:
"Yang" symbolises energy, light and movement, while "Ngaro" honours the traditional custodians of the Whitsundays, the Ngaro people. Together, they represent the resort’s commitment to balance, connection, and reverence for the land.
