Yangaro Wedding FAQs

Planning a destination wedding comes with plenty of questions. From accommodation and catering to wet-weather planning, BYO beverages and wedding-day coordination, we’ve answered some of the questions we’re most frequently asked by couples considering a celebration at Yangaro.

YOUR WEDDING AT YANGARO

  • Absolutely. Yangaro offers a collection of beautiful outdoor spaces across the estate for ceremonies, cocktail hours and receptions, allowing your entire wedding celebration to take place in one private destination.

    You can also extend your celebration with a welcome event, rehearsal gathering or post-wedding recovery experience.

  • Yes. We host only one wedding or major event at a time, allowing our team and event spaces to focus on your celebration.

    Full exclusivity of Yangaro’s accommodation is achieved when all villas are reserved by your wedding group.

  • Yangaro can host everything from intimate elopements through to larger marquee celebrations.

    The most suitable event spaces, accommodation requirements and infrastructure will depend on your guest numbers and preferred wedding style. Our team will guide you through the options when preparing your proposal.

  • Absolutely. Private site tours are available by appointment and are the best way to experience the estate, explore potential ceremony and reception locations and discuss how your wedding could come together.

PLANNING & COORDINATION

  • Yangaro has a dedicated onsite Guest Services & Events team who coordinate the venue operations and execution of your wedding, including your master run sheet, supplier access, event timing, guest movements and coordination across the estate.

    Your individual suppliers remain responsible for delivering the services within their scope, including catering, styling, florals and entertainment.

    Some couples also choose to engage their own wedding planner, particularly for larger or more detailed celebrations, and we work collaboratively with external planners.

  • Yes. We work with a trusted network of Whitsundays wedding professionals across catering, styling, florals, photography, entertainment, celebrants, transport and other services.

    Our team can provide our current Preferred & Recommended Supplier Guide to help you build your wedding team.

  • Wet weather is considered as part of the planning for every Yangaro wedding.

    Your ceremony contingency will be determined based on your guest numbers, event layout and overall wedding configuration, with suitable covered or indoor alternatives discussed during the planning process.

    For larger marquee weddings, wet-weather considerations are incorporated into the marquee, site and supplier planning from the outset. Our team works closely with you and your suppliers to ensure an appropriate contingency is in place should conditions change.

  • We encourage couples and their stylists to make the spaces their own while respecting Yangaro’s natural environment and property.

    Flower petals are permitted; however, confetti is not permitted. Styling installation, transitions and pack-down should be coordinated with your appointed stylist or nominated supplier, with all items and waste removed appropriately following the event.

CATERING & BEVERAGES

  • Yes. One of the advantages of celebrating at Yangaro is the flexibility to create a food and beverage experience that reflects your wedding.

    Yangaro has a Preferred Catering Panel of experienced local caterers familiar with our venue, kitchens and event operations, offering everything from plated and shared dining to cocktail receptions and relaxed celebrations.

    You may appoint an alternative caterer with prior Yangaro approval. A $500 stand-aside fee applies, and external caterers must meet Yangaro’s licensing, insurance, food safety and operational requirements.

    Yangaro also permits BYO beverages, including beer, wine and spirits.

    All alcohol must be professionally managed and served by RSA-certified bar staff, with suitable bar infrastructure, refrigeration, glassware, ice and service equipment arranged for your event.

  • Your beverages are delivered and stored within the designated event refrigeration/cool-room facilities and remain under the control of your RSA-certified bar team throughout the event.

    Guests cannot self-serve or access event alcohol directly.

    Towards the end of the reception, remaining beverages are secured by the bar team. Couples wishing to enjoy drinks privately after the reception can arrange for separate beverages to be stocked within their accommodation villa beforehand.

    This gives you the flexibility and value of BYO while maintaining professional and responsible beverage service.

EVENT TIMES & ENTERTAINMENT

  • To respect the peaceful nature of the estate, formal receptions and amplified entertainment conclude by 11:00pm Monday–Saturday.

    Last drinks are called from approximately 10:15pm, bar service concludes at 10:45pm, and non-resident guests are required to depart the estate by 11:30pm.

    Guests staying at Yangaro may return to their villas following the reception; however, celebrations cannot continue within event areas after the curfew.

    Sunday events conclude by 10:00pm, with specific operating times confirmed during planning.

  • Absolutely. DJs, live musicians and entertainment are welcome, subject to Yangaro’s event operating hours and venue requirements.

    Your entertainment supplier will coordinate relevant production, power, positioning and equipment requirements with our team ahead of the wedding.

ACCOMMODATION

  • Yangaro comprises eight private luxury villas, accommodating approximately 68 guests onsite, depending on your group configuration.

    Our villas range from three to eight bedrooms, allowing couples to bring their closest family and friends together across the estate.

    For weddings exceeding Yangaro’s onsite accommodation capacity, our team can recommend additional accommodation within the surrounding Whitsundays region.

  • No. Minimum accommodation requirements apply depending on your wedding package, guest numbers and event configuration, but your entire guest list does not necessarily need to stay onsite.

    Many couples choose to reserve multiple villas – or the entire estate – to create a multi-day destination wedding experience with their closest family and friends.

  • Standard villa check-in is from 3:00pm, with check-out by 10:00am.

    Where included within a couple’s wedding package, their designated accommodation may receive extended arrival or departure times. Any additional early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and operational requirements.

  • Yes. Parking is available for villa guests, with designated event parking arrangements available for non-resident wedding guests.

    Final parking, transfers and guest arrival arrangements are coordinated as part of your wedding planning.

THE WEDDING WEEKEND

  • Yes. We love seeing couples turn their wedding into a multi-day Whitsundays celebration.

    Welcome drinks, relaxed gatherings and post-wedding recovery events may be hosted at Yangaro, subject to availability and an additional event package based on your requirements and guest numbers.

    Alternatively, our team can recommend some wonderful Whitsundays experiences, including private yacht charters, sailing, island experiences and local venues.

  • Absolutely. Wedding groups can incorporate spa treatments, thermal therapies and wellness experiences into their stay – perfect for unwinding before the wedding or recovering together afterwards.

    Advance bookings are strongly recommended for groups.

  • Depending on your wedding package, the Relaxation Lounge within the Yangaro Clubhouse may be available for wedding preparations, providing a dedicated space away from the villas.

    Your accommodation also provides beautiful spaces for preparations and photography.

BOOKINGS & POLICIES

  • Our standard wedding payment schedule is:

    20% initial deposit to secure your wedding
    30% due 90 days prior
    50% due 30 days prior

    Accommodation and other services may have separate payment schedules, which will be outlined within your individual proposal and agreement.

  • Yes. Refundable damage bonds apply to wedding and villa bookings, with the applicable amounts outlined in your agreement.

    Bonds are generally pre-authorised prior to arrival and released following checkout and completion of our post-stay/event inspection, provided no applicable charges are required.

  • Your applicable cancellation and date-change conditions are detailed within your Wedding & Event Booking Agreement.

    We recommend reviewing these carefully before confirming your wedding and considering appropriate wedding and travel insurance.

  • Pets cannot stay overnight within Yangaro’s villas. However, by prior arrangement, pets may be able to join you for part of your wedding day or photographs, subject to Yangaro’s event requirements.
